SCOUTMASTERS MINUTES

I would like to thank all of the Scouts that talked their Dad's into helping with this years Hayride set up. Chris Bergdorf is dependant on volunteer help and if nobody shows up, it becomes a one man show. Dads', it’s because of guys like you this Troop runs and does so well and the Scouts learn so much. We continually tell the Scouts, Lead By Example, and you men definitely set the example.

We have a new Senior Patrol and they are doing a great job! They have reorganized the senior staff the patrol leaders and the patrols. On the recient backpacking trip to Minster Creek they were more than prepared. They led the new scouts on a great trek over the ridge and into camp without any adult help. Once in camp they showed the younger Scouts how to set up camp, made lunch and went exploring while their Scoutmaster recovered. The senior scouts taught how to find and build survival shelters, build fires, work backpacking stoves and much more. This was a great learning and fun experience. I wish all of you parents could have been there.

We had a great Christmas party and I want to thank all of you that helped. Lots of good food and fun were had by all. Congratulations to the Scouts that were chosen to be in the Indian Patrol. This patrol is number one in the leader’s eyes. These scouts are chosen because of their leadership and hard work in the troop.
