Welcome!

Boy Scout Troop 380 has been in existence for over 70 years and still once of the strong units in the district. Troop 380 is a Scout-led Troop that offers unique experiences in leadership development and high adventure.  Through a robust, active program centered on camping and hiking opportunities, the boys learn skills, have fun and build friendships that last a lifetime. Our Troop's success is built on the strengths of:

  • Relationships
  • Outdoor/Scout Skills
  • Leadership Development
  • Summer Adventures
  • Adult and Alumni Oversight
The main goal (and challenge) of all the adult leaders of Troop 380 is to utilize the methods of Scouting to provide an environment where the Boy Scouts can lead, learn and have fun while embracing the core values of Scouting: citizenship, character and fitness. We are glad that you are interested in a Scouting journey with our Troop and welcome your questions and involvement!

Scout Holiday Gift Ideas

Posted on Dec 1 2020 - 7:54pm

Some parents have asked about camping equipment, particularly around high adventure. Equipment makes a pretty good holiday gift for your scouts. I’ve attached a Philmont gear list and description. It does a pretty good job of explaining what you might look for when making selections. In general, the lighter and smaller it is, the better it is for backpacking (though more expensive). I’ve invested in gear over the years with my older boys and I still use it for myself and current scout. Also, if it says “Coleman” on it, it likely is heavy and won’t last long on the trail but may be suitable for “car camping.”
